This crystal and iron gem is enough of an attraction on its own, but as you approach those big glass windows, you realize that this is not just some pretty iron cast structure from the 19th century. The market is one of a kind, and considered a must-visit foodie monument!
I have lost track of how many times I’ve entered it, and yet, every time I do I am astounded. There is a stand for everything worth spending your time eating it, from tapas, to oysters & champagne, with a quick stop on some comfort food, and even (as after all it is a market) your not-so-typical fruit and vegetable stands.
Depending on the time of the day, you will find a different atmosphere that will make your jaw drop. Openning at 10am it only stops at 2am when the movida turns to the Chueca district.
It is truly a treat for the eye and for the soul. Drooling already? Trust me, that is nothing!
