Oenophiles, Wine crazies, cooking instructors, wine importers, winery owners, you may want to sit down for this!
Tokyo is now home to the state of the art man cave apartment complex, or should I say Wine Cave.
A sommelier for a concierge? A magnificent 10.000 bottle wine cellar? These are a few of the things that are no longer a luxury confined for the suburban mansions, a sign of the changing times, these studio apartments have everything a wine maven can possibly wish for, and perhaps more!
The underground cellar is the heart of the building, and the developers guarantee “the environment is like a wine cellar in a European Chateau where wine ages while breathing through the cork as a “creature” and is stored for a long time”, still each of the 18 units comes with a wine fridge for 26 bottles and a rack for glasses.
Under the supervision of Ishida Hiroshi, the world’s 3rd best sommelier, the In-house sommelier service is top notch, your private sommelier takes care of everything for you, from selecting the wine, to planning parties, coordinating wine glasses and decanters, as well as manage your wine cave.
The Wine Apartments also offers a collection of 100 wine glasses, which tenants can borrow. Set to open in November on the first floor is a bistro where residents can bring and drink their own wine for a corkage charge.
